Course Highlights from Jack and Emily
Two participants share their thoughts on our latest production.
“My name is Jack and I participated in the Grumpy Goldilocks production at Making Theatre Gaining Skills. It was a three weeklong course where we built and put on a children’s puppet show from scratch. The first day was probably the scariest, mostly being in a room with new people. However, I quickly felt at ease seeing everyone else was in the same boat.”
“Our first task was putting up the stage (including all the framework) and it was a really good teambuilding exercise. The following weeks have flown by. We’ve painted back cloths, made puppets, and just had a good time. I honestly feel like I’ve made some great friends! AND I got to use a jigsaw which I loved. Power tools are fun!”

“I have enjoyed the entire course from start to finish. It has given me such an amazing opportunity to try new things, push myself out of my comfort zone and to meet new people. I really enjoyed learning to use the sewing machine and being involved in making Goldilocks’ costume.”
“It has been so interesting to be involved in every step of putting on a performance, I’ve really enjoyed the combination of creativity and fun while working to a tight schedule. It started as a course with a group of strangers and has ended with a group of friends putting on a showstopper! I can’t wait to see how the final performances turn out.”
